Professional Development

While our offerings are open to all Sinclair Community College faculty, adjunct faculty are prohibited from being assigned or accepting more than 12 payload hours per term or any combination of payload hours and other work or compensation at the College which result in working in excess of 28 actual hours per week. In nearly every case, training must be included in this limit. If in doubt, clarify with your department chair before attending any college sponsored or related training.

Opportunities for External Professional Development

The Center for Teaching and Learning encourages faculty to participate in teaching and learning conferences offered locally. We do have limited funding opportunities available for faculty to attend local conferences.

SOCHE Conferences - The Strategic Ohio Council of Higher Education hosts several conferences on teaching and learning annually |website|

Lilly Conference - An annual conference held at Miami University in Oxford, OH |website|

Many faculty attend disciplinary conferences and apply for funding through their departments and/or the CTL. We recommend signing up for the Conference Alert website below to receive updates about pedagogically related conferences.
